Hi all,
I'm using the Nvidia GeForce 6200 graphics card with 128 MB RAM, but for some reason Vista beta 2 (5384) only see/shows this as having 32 MB RAM, and because of this I can't use Aero! How do I get Vista to find the "missing" RAM and showing 128 MB?? Any help please? P.S. I do have the latest driver!

Because you likely have a "6200 with TurboCache". Sounds cool, doesn't it?
Unfortunately, what it means is that some of your 128MB comes from system memory and there really is only 32MB on the card.
Not positive this is your problem, but sounds likely. You can read more about this scam (called hypermemory in the ATI world) at

Odd, I use the same type of card with the latest driver and it works fine with Aero, for the most part. The only glitch I get is what appears to be a common one with every Geforce card and Vista, and that is the screen capture bug that occurs when the desktop compositing is enabled.

But I agree with Tom above. You probably don't have one that really has 128 MB, so mine probably isn't exactly like yours, since I avoided the TurboCache versions like the plague.

Do you have the latest MCE driver or the latest Vista Beta X86 driver? which is:

You can't because it isn't missing. Your card only has 32MB and, like
AGP cards, uses system RAM for the rest.

Not all AGP cards use system ram 'for the rest'. Neither my ATI 9800 Pro nor my nVidia 6600 do.

Even not all GeForce 6200 AGP cards use system RAM - there are GF 6200
with 'real' 128 or 256 MB VRAM (e.g. by Asus).
